Privacy Policy

This policy is a working draft prepared in-house and is pending review by an attorney. We keep it in plain English on purpose. It was corrected on September 29, 2026 to describe what the site actually does today: no mailing-list service and no analytics are running, and anything you send reaches us as an email.
Who we are
Kindred Oak (“we,” “us”) operates kindoak.org. You can reach us anytime at cameron@kindoak.org.
What we collect
- Information you give us. The forms on this site do not send anything themselves. When you ask to hear when the app or giving opens, raise your hand to get involved, or contact us, your own email app opens with a message to us, and we receive what you choose to send: typically your name, email address, city, and your message.
- No analytics, no advertising trackers. We do not run analytics or advertising trackers on this site, and it sets no cookies of its own. Our host keeps the ordinary technical logs any web server keeps.
- Calculator inputs. The numbers you enter in our calculators stay in your browser. We do not receive, store, or see them. If you rename or add a category, that name is saved in your own browser so it is there next time, and it never leaves your device.
How we use it
- To tell you what you asked to hear about, such as the app or giving opening.
- To respond when you contact us or raise your hand.
What we never do
- We never sell your personal information.
- We never share it with third parties for their marketing.
- We never keep writing to you after you ask us to stop.
Where your data lives
What you send us arrives by email and stays in our email account. The website is hosted on Vercel, an established provider with its own security and privacy commitments. The Kindred Oak app, when it is released, comes with its own terms and privacy information.
Your choices
You can ask us to stop writing to you at any time. You can also email us at cameron@kindoak.org to ask what information we have about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. We will honor those requests.
Young men under 18
Some of our content serves men as young as 15. We do not knowingly collect more information from anyone under 18 than an email address voluntarily provided, and a parent or guardian can email us to have a minor's information removed.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the effective date above.
